Orchard Description
Sunhigh Orchard is a premier fruit and vegetable farm for fresh produce. Sunhigh is a highly successful 3rd generation fruit farm. Currently the farm consists of 14 acres of tree fruit and 5 acres of vegetables - sold both as retail at their farm stand and via PYO.
Phil has done extensive renovation of apple varieties with focus on Midwest Apple Improvement Association cultivars/selections as well as Rutgers and Univ. of Minnesota new selections.
In addition, new orchard blocks are established with the tall spindle production system, utilizing metal and cement posts. The new Toro Tempus Ag Controller system is being utilized with an on-site weather station. The Toro Tempus Ag controller allows for full farm automated irrigation, soil moisture monitoring and cold storage controls.
